Bioinformatics and systems biology post-doctoral position offered at INSERM U1194 in estrogen receptor signaling

The Colinge Laboratory Cancer Bioinformatics and Systems Biology at IRCM (Cancer Research Institute of Montpellier) is looking for a talented postdoctoral fellow.

In hormone-dependent tissues such as breast and ovary, tumorigenesis is associated with abnormal activity of estrogen receptors (ERs). Transcriptional activity of ERs is regulated by corepressors and coactivators, which play a similar role with other nuclear receptors, in particular the retinoic acid receptors (RARs), thereby establishing potential crosstalk. Given the importance of ERs in various cancers and the existence of many therapeutic agents towards ER and RAR signaling, we decided to investigate the ER-RAR transcriptional regulatory network in a systematic manner, involving quantitative modeling. Quantitative measures of ERs, RARs, and related gene transcripts along with whole transcriptomes under a multitude of perturbed conditions will be the basis for constructing quantitative models. The project is a collaboration with an experimental IRCM group specialized in nuclear receptor cancer biology (Dr. V. Cavaillès).
